Note: All rod bearings are priced and sold as pairs. Pre 1949 rod bearings are the floating type which serve two adjoining rods. The 1949-53 type rod bearings are individual to the rod (and do not have flanges). See NOTE below.

Note: 1932-48 crankshafts have a single oiling hole on each rod journal and are meant to be used with the floating type rod bearings. The 1949-53 crankshafts have twin oiling holes on each rod journal, and are meant to be used with the separate insert type rod bearings (8BA/0BA type). The 99T style floating rod bearings can be used on the 1949-53 crankshaft. However, the 8BA/0BA type insert rod bearings should NOT be used on the 1939-48 crankshafts.

Note: The availability and pricing on flathead engine bearings has fluctuated greatly. Our bearing prices are subject to change at any time, so it is important to check with us before you purchase to confirm price and whether in stock or not. We also have some limited supplies of the odd/special sizes (ie: .008" us/.004" os etc).     (us=undersize    os=oversize)

Note: Ford began using the bolt-on type camshaft gear in 1940 model production. This gear can be used in 1935-39 vehicles if the camshaft has been upgraded to a 1940 and newer camshaft. Also, the pitch angle is opposite for the 1949-53 type gears. If using a 49-53 cam and timing cover in a 1935-48 motor, be sure to order the 49-53 cam and crank timing gears to match. If using a 1935-48 cam and timing cover in a 49-53 motor, be sure to order the 35-48 cam and crank timing gears to match.

Note: The above pictures of the 8RT bell housing and starter cup are to show the two parts and how they fit together. The starter cup is available as a separate part as listed above. The 8RT bell housings are sold with the starter cup as part of the Used Parts set. If the cup is badly damaged or missing, we will supply a new cup (customer install only) with the set.
