Anderson Township & Mt Washington Vintage Photos

Additional Photo Information

This photo, taken after the viaduct was completed in 1931, clearly shows the offset alignment of the Beechmont Avenue levee, with the changed approach to the new viaduct. The image looks east, across the levee, to the bridge over the Little Miami River. Mount Washington would be located in the upper right from the bridge. Today we would most likely see the water tower rising from the hilltop, but that structure had not been built in 1931. In today's view, the U.S Route 50 (Columbia Parkway) overpass would be blocking the sight of the old car seen near the center of the photo.

The highway sign post at the left has a sign for Route 125 and Route 74, pointing in the direction of the Beechmont Avenue levee.
