Additional Photo Information This is Beechmont Avenue looking west, approaching the end of it where it met Eastern Avenue in 1930 before the road improvement project that involved construction of the viaduct. Numerous businesses are seen in the image, many of which were eventually displaced by the work. A Chevrolet auto dealership (Eastern Motors) is seen on the right hand side of the road by the car parked in the street. This section of the road was left in place for local access, but the buildings lining the left side were razed for the new viaduct meant to carry vehicular traffic over Eastern Avenue and the railroad. The skating rink on the left was known as the Palace Gardens Skating Rink. |
