Looking south down Beechmont Avenue from Roxbury Avenue in Mount Washington, we see the evidence of the street improvement program. The old trees that lined the street have been removed. On the right hand side is a restaurant featuring Coca Cola. Just to the south of it is the Frugal Electric Company, and just beyond that is a gasoline service station, located at Plaza and Beechmont Avenue, which may have been known as Beechmont Auto Service at that time. 

Frugal Electric was a manufacturer of electric stoves. Their building was previously the Colter Canning Company, and in more recent years was the location of a series of convenient stores (King Kwik, Dairy Mart).
