This general store also sold gasoline. The large diamond shaped overhead sign promotes the Sunoco brand of fuel. However, a smaller sign near the left side of the structure features Sohio motor oil. The street sign uses the original spelling of Birney Lane. The direction is not indicated on the photo but it appears to be looking east on Beechmont (Ohio Pike) on the left, and Birney Lane angles off to the southeast at the right.
